I’ve been meditating on the conflict of existence, the things that war within you, when all you want to do is exist as your essential self.
Or at the very least figure out what that is, what that could be, be whole again without feeling like you’re in a hole again.
After I sat in this space for some time, up came these words—words that became the piece below.
Where can people find you? What space aligns with your most essential creative self?
Share below. Let us be more known— more seen—than this world wants us to be.

Light leaves a mark
when left on brown skin.
The mark is warmth,
more deeply instilled.
The mark is a reminder that I live in time,
that I breathe in space,
I am not a numb collection of icy blue vessels,
lightly shielded in a sleeve of skin.
Then, the present.
Then, the now.
Then, the me.
Then, the us.
Then, we're one.
Then, we're two.
Then, there's love.
Then, there's you.
Love on the brink,
Finding our outer edge.
Wondering what's beyond.
Beyond me.
Can I go beyond me,
go and see how far the light touches?
Discover a wider world in light touches.
I see the curve of an ancient tree where the light brushes.
