There are days when I feel beyond fortunate to be alive. Yesterday was one of those days.

Watching Sinners, a transporting film by Ryan Coogler, starring Michael B. Jordan, and an incredible cast bursting with transcendent talent, was a singular experience.

The scene that has been imprinted onto my soul is Preacher Boys’ first performance. He sings a song he wrote for his father, who is a pastor. In that song, he apologizes for pursuing Blues music rather than ministry.
